On January 5th 2018 at 1045 hours La Marque Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a female that was found in her home and did not show signs of life. As officers arrived on scene they did locate a female who did appear to suffer multiple gunshot wounds. The female was pronounced deceased at her residence which is in the 1900 block of Little Street in La Marque.

This is an active Homicide Investigation and investigators do have a person of interest in this case. Anyone with information is asked to contact La Marque Police Department Det. Arredondo or Lt. Waggoner (409)938-9250. Also please call La Marque Crime Stoppers at (409) 938-TIPS if you wish to be anonymous.

The deceased is identified as:
Brandy Rhines 39 year old black female

Brandy Rhines 39 year old black female

Person of Interest:
Byron Coleman 38 years of age
Coleman was subsequently charged with Felon in Poss. of Firearm with a bond of $200,000
                        UPDATE

On May 31st 2018 Byron Coleman was charged with the Murder of Brandy Rhines with a bond set at $250,000.
Coleman is currently still incarcerated at the Galveston County Jail for the Felon in Possession of A Firearm charge.
