was shot in the chest by a robbery suspect Wednesday morning.

Police saw the car on the way to the home and tried to
pull the driver over, but the driver sped off, leading police on a short
The robbers eventually crashed the Camaro into a parked car in a Pappas Bar-B-Q restaurant parking lot.
The passenger surrendered to police, but the driver ran from the car to a nearby Taqueria Arandas Restaurant.
According to reports, police used a taser on the robber, but it was not effective.
That's when the robber pulled his gun and started shooting, hitting one police officer in the chest.
Officers returned fire, wounding the robbery suspect in the pelvis.
He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital and is expected to recover.
the wounded officer drove himself to Memorial Hermann Northeast Medical
Center, where he was treated and released, KPRC reported.
Officials said the bullet traveled through the officer's chest and through his left arm, missing all his vital organs.
